Veracruz, Mexico

I got to spend part of my Spring Break in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz.  It was a beautiful, small city and had some gorgeous waterfalls and country side.
Drinking a coconut juice from a coconut on the beach.
Some friends from Veracruz.  Paola's, girl on the left, family hosted us.  Paola is from Veracruz but studies in Toluca.
We went on a boat ride out to an island one day and ate tons of fresh seafood!!!  Above, Paola's grandma, sister, me, and her mom.
Some sweet children of some adults who work/live on Paola's family ranch.
The little hut-restaurants at the waterfalls
The two little heads closest to the waterfall are Israel and me.
Some of the natural pools below the falls.
 Playing in some smaller falls.

 Roadside fruit and veggie market.
Sweet kids on the road to the falls.
At a wedding, out in the country, of Paola's family friends.
Israel and I playing in another river.

Puebla, Mexico

I didn't get to spend too much time in the state of Puebla, but it was neat to visit a place where lots of my Mexican friends in the US are from.  I went with my friend Israel and his friends that live there.  Puebla has tons of old, large Catholic churches that are beautiful.
Below is a picture of two mountain peaks, Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl.  They are famous in Mexico and there is an Aztec legend that is a love story between to young people from different tribes (kind of Romeo and Juliet style).  I have actually taught this legend in my high school Spanish classes so it was really cool to actually see them!
Some lake in a park we visited

After working "hard" in the garden/yard we needed some pool/sun time!  What a great way to spend Memorial Day Weekend.
