She is so fun!

Growing up I always considered myself a "baby person".  I just loved babies.  But now that I have one of my own, I can honestly say that with each passing month I like Juliet more and more.  So, currently two-and-a-half-year-old Juliet has been my favorite stage thus far!  She is SO fun!  She makes jokes, plays games, asks insightful and silly questions.  She is a problem solver and a thinker.  She is loving with words and deeds.  She has spunk, personality, and opinion.  She learns new words, phrases, and concepts each day.  We can color, cut, glue, and memorize.  We talk walks and have real conversations.  She has memory and tells stories.  She is just so fun and so full of life.

Texan cowgirl

Kiddie park

The San Antonio Kiddie Park is know as "America's oldest Amusement Park".  Originally built in 1925, it has become a historical place in San Antonio.  We LOVE it.  All rides are made for children ages 2 to 5, there are never any lines, and they you can buy an unlimited rides pass for $11.  Juliet will sit on some rides for like 15 minutes and just keep riding it over and over again.  Also, they let Micah and I ride the Merry-Go-Round with her for free :)

Picture day

Today was picture day at Juliet's pre-school.  We snapped a few shots at home before she left in case she no longer looked like "this" by the time picture taking came around ;)

Rodeo

Once I moved to Texas everyone was always telling me how great the Rodeo was. ...the one that comes every February.  THEY WERE RIGHT!  We spent the whole day there.  There are all sorts of animal "competitions", an awesome petting zoo (with the cutest baby deer, goats, pigs, llamas, and more), agricultural exhibits, and tons of crafts for sale.  In the evening was the actually show where we got to watch bull riding and cow roping.  And the evening finished off with a country concert!

If you ever come to Texas, I totally recommend the Rodeo!

Valentine's Day

Around here we LOVE Valentines day!  We started off the week festivities by having our dear friends Kali, Brooklyn (Juliet's BFF), and baby Eleanor over to decorate cookies with us.

Juliet took the cookies she (and I!) decorated to her pre-school to share with her friends.

On Valentine's Day, we began the morning with heart-shaped pancakes (and wine for those who had just worked the night shift....)

Our families were SO sweet to send of lots of gifts for the occasion!  My parents sent us chocolate covered strawberries, Juliet's little table arrived from my parent's (a late Christmas gift), and Micah's parents sent Juliet a package with goodies and clothes from India.  Also, Juliet's Papa sent her a package.  I'm pretty sure Juliet got more on this day then she did on her birthday :)

Since Micah and I had plans to go out for dinner, we let Juliet eat all the chocolate and candy she received since we knew she could expend her sugar-energy on the babysitter.  Ha!  Micah and I went out to an Italian restaurant that was very yummy!  It was a great day!

Dessert

Me: Juliet, we need to cut your fingernails.
Juliet: No, mommy, we don't need to.
Me: Yes we do.
Juliet: But I have no dessert.

At first I thought she was voluntarily giving up her future dessert in exchange for me not cutting her nails, but as we continued I later discovered the word she was looking for was "dirt" (as in dirt under her nails). There is only a slight difference :)

San Antonio Missions and out-of-town friends

We love visitors!  Come stay in our guest room, anytime!

Micah's friends Grace and Lani from D.C. came for along weekend and my friend Josue from Mexico came for a week.  We did all the touristy things, ate lots, went dancing, laughed a lot, went to a country concert, and Juliet got lots of extra attention.

Grace was our wedding photographer, and just loves taking pictures.  Many of the pictures below (basically, all the good ones!) belong to her.
