Both appointments have gone about the same....
-I am still 1.5 cm dilated and 50% effaced (same way for 2 weeks now)
-I have only gained like 1 or 2 lbs
-in my 38 week apt the doctor I was suppose to see had to go and deliver a baby at the hospital so I ended up waiting in the examination room for a while for another doctor to come and see me. I fell asleep on the table in my cute pink "gown" none the less. (...they should not have made me wait so long!! haha)
Running and sleeping have become two not very successful endeavors. Since last Friday I have not slept well, nor felt good running. I'm still able to maintain a 30/40 minute jog, but it's starting to turn into a jog SO slow I should probably just walk; however, I refuse to give in! I'm guessing since I'm 10 days away from my due date this is not just a "phase" and it won't get better until after BG is born. I still look forward to my runs simply because I feel so "accomplished" and "healthy" afterward.
Last Friday my mom and I went on the "Labor and Delivery" tour at the hospital. It was very informative and now I have a better idea of what to expect (referring to services offered, what the nurses will do, etc) on the big day. It left me a little scared because she reminded us of all the crazy/hard things that we will be going through!..but I'm really glad I went.
This week my mom and I met with our good friend Adrienne, who also is a nurse at Grace OBGYN, and she use to teach Lamaze classes. She gave me a crash course Birthing Class. It was very helpful, to the point, and all in about two hours!...That is my kind of class!
In the Sullivan household we are all praying BG comes on the 10th (because we can totally have a say, right?). My mom doesn't teach on weekends, my dad has several business trips before and after the 10th, and I just think 9-10-11 would be a cool birthday! We shall see :)

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome...in Pregnancy???
For about a week now I have been waking-up with really sore wrist, mostly hurting when I move my thumbs. As first I just thought I had slept weird, but now that it has been re-occurring for a week I figured it was something else. I checked online and according to mayoclinc.com .....
Pregnancy
Some women develop carpal tunnel in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, in part because of hormonal changes. Shifts in the balance of estrogen and progesterone cause the body to retain more fluid, which increases swelling in the carpal tunnel.
According to a few other sites, the carpal tunnel soreness usually disappears after the baby is born.
Who would have thought????

Favorites
One of my favorite verses right now is Psalm 62:8
"Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us."
This verse is a reminder to me that God wants to be in communion with me and wants to hear about the joys, struggles, and sorrows of my daily life...He wants to hear about whatever is on my heart. No matter how big or small something seems I can pour out my heart before Him, trust Him, and He will be my refuge.
One of my favorite songs right now is "I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say"

One of my favorite songs right now is "I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say"
I heard the voice of Jesus say, “Come unto Me and rest;
Lay down, thou weary one, lay down Thy head upon My breast.”
I came to Jesus as I was, weary and worn and sad;
I found in Him a resting place, and He has made me glad.
I heard the voice of Jesus say, “Behold, I freely give
The living water; thirsty one, stoop down, and drink, and live.”
I came to Jesus, and I drank of that life giving stream;
My thirst was quenched, my soul revived, and now I live in Him.
I heard the voice of Jesus say, “I am this dark world’s Light;
Look unto Me, thy morn shall rise, and all thy day be bright.”
I looked to Jesus, and I found in Him my Star, my Sun;
And in that light of life I’ll walk, till traveling days are done.
I have been listening to my RUF cd from Mexico in my car lately and this has become one of my favorites. The version I listen to is slightly different, because it is in Spanish, but I just love the lyrics and the way that Jesus invites us to come to Him as we are, to rest, to trust, and to be revived.

Night Out on the Town
Friday evening I went out with my mom and Sarah! We went to "Downtown after 5" where there is music and food, then we ate dinner at Salsas. We shared Chicken Enchiladas and a Mocajete (which is the stone "pot" the food is served in). And them we went to Elaine's Bar in the Grove Park Inn to see the dueling pianos. The pianist play and sing ANY song you request and you can clap and sing along. They are very lively and talk a lot to the crowd. It's quite an impressive show! We all had a fun time. And my mom is going to K.I.L.L. me for one of the pictures below but it just shows how much fun we were having!!!
Irresistable!
My mom and I saw these in Mast General Store and could not help it! I mean, seriously, could something be any cuter??? They will fit BG sometime around 9-12 months.
Grandmother's 85th Birthday
We celebrated my Grandmother Helen's 85th birthday this Saturday, August 20th at the home of my Aunt Becky and Uncle Tommy. We ate BBQ with the appropriate fixings and sides (a family favorite), ate YUMMY desserts made by Aunt Sheri, shared our favorite qualities and memories about Helen, and she shared stories and facts about her past and life growing-up. It was a special party! We love you and are thankful for you Grandmother!
Baby Shower at Caroline's House
I like to call this my "friends shower". It was SO fun to have a baby shower with about 8 friends from high school (some even from elementary school) in attendance. My friends were great to shower me with lots of fun company and gifts for BG. Caroline hosted the shower and had everything to a "T"!!!! I was SO impressed. Also, she and Amanda planned lots of fun games. There was a "guess the weight and birthday of BG" wall, "guess the measurement of my belly with ribbon" game, some baby trivia games, and we all had on necklaces and if we said the work "baby" someone else could take our necklace (the goal was to have the most necklaces at the end). I had so much fun and the food was so yummy! I am thankful for all their hard work and preparation that made me feel so special.
